This magnificent view from the top of Pu'u Pohahu on Mauna Kea (looking west) stretches about 180 degrees from Maui on the right all the way to Hilo under the clouds on the left. The highest peak is Mauna Loa (13,677ft) and the peak capped by clouds to its right is Mount Hualalai (8,271ft)--both seismically active. Kailua-Kona is almost directly behind Mount Hualalai. Kawaihae Harbor is near the white speck on the coast near the middle of the rightmost frame of this composition. The Royal Waikoloan is about half way between these last two spots. Hawaiian Eyes Land Tours provided transportation to the peak.
