The Ark

One morning on the way from the hotel to Chiswick, I spotted this intriguing building. A brief walk between the Hammersmith and Baron's Court stations after the close of business Friday yielded this picture. (I walked all around the building and this was the only place I could get a good shot!) Completed in 1992 by Ralph Erskine, this extraordinary building resembles a gigantic ocean liner. Its curved outline is dictated by the shape of the raised trunk road (the shadow in the upper left corner of this picture).
