Christ Church Cathedral
Dublin, Ireland

Originally built in wood by the Danes in 1038, the cathedral was rebuilt in stone from 1172 by the legendary Strongbow. Built on a peat bog, the south wall collapsed in 1562. Although some of the original stonework remains, most of what you see is from an 1871-1878 restoration effort by George Edmund Street.
